#choices
#choices is a harm reduction approach to substance use. In this program, participants will learn core principles of Harm Reduction, which focuses on minimizing negative effects rather than solely aiming for abstinence. We’ll explore how this approach can be a powerful lens for preventing, detecting, and treating substance use. Participants will build awareness of basic human needs and how they show up in our lives, illustrating how these needs influence our choices, including our decisions around substance use. We’ll discuss what harm can look like in the context of substance use and dive into an interactive segment where we explore why we might turn to substances and how to spot signs of disordered use. Finally, participants will learn practical strategies for managing stress and making different choices to reduce harm.
